Lucas was born in São Paulo, Brazil. He moved to the United States at the age of 12 and has since lived in Cleveland, Washington D.C., Dallas, and New York. He studied History at the University of Dallas, where he was immersed in the western cannon through his university’s rigorous core curriculum. At Dallas he undertook courses such as The Trivium and Philosophy of Education. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and had the honor of being inducted in Phi Beta Kappa. Lucas is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, and is proficient in Latin. Previous to joining Neumann Classical School, he worked for Youth Service International as Program Director and taught Catechism at St. Luke Parish in Dallas. During his spare time, he mentors for The Grade, an academic and professional seminar for boys in grades 8 to 12.
